Well, like i said in my comment below it is futile to even attempt explanation.
just an eg.everything in hinduism is symbolic.
so,actually it hardly matters whether so and so actually existed or not.
for eg.the mahabharata, the pandavas can be explained as the five senses...etc etc.
but in islam ,everything is "real"..so muhammad seeing gabriel with 600 wings is real.
in hinduism there is myth(mithya) which is everythig we can see and experience, symbolic.

So if "god" is omnipotent and omnipresent ,then everything has the essence of god in it.which is where the hindu concepts of ahimsa and veneration of all life and the cosmos come from.

The other is satya(truth) ,beyond human experience, which can only be hinted at.
as regards sati and other social customs, they are wrong and so can be corrected over time ,since they are not the 'final"word of god or some such rubbish.
for eg .homosexuality is rampant in a lot of the muslim world,so does that reflect on the koran? or on basic human craving for power and recognition?

Just a random question.
if "allah" wants all to be muslim ,then why over more than thousand years are so many non muslim born. so then billions are born and then "god' wants you to convert or kill them?
first give birth to billions and then kill and slay them?
even a half sensible human being wont do something so stupid. and this is what you credit to "god"?

I notice you are perhaps a sardar.
i've got a lot of sikh friends.some of them do the daftest things..so if a small percentage of them do something would this reflect on the teachings of some philosophy?
note, hinduism is a way of life.."god" is not dead or trapped in some silly book.
the whole essence of hinduism is realising god...so it is a "living" religion...forever evolving(like any true science or a living god)...not some ancient social customs cast in stone
